How Deliveries Work

1. Use SnapEntry during checkout
Grant one-time use entry for the delivery
2. Paste the entry code into the delivery instructions
e.g. 30193
The next time you do the same delivery, you can re-use the entry code to skip this step (still time-limited)
3. SnapEntry answers and asks for the code
When the delivery person arrives, SnapEntry has been patiently waiting and answers the buzz
4. The door opens once the delivery person says the code
The package arrives even if you were sleeping

How Having Friends Over Works

1. Use SnapEntry to grant entry
You can choose when the entry code is active and more
2. Send the entry link to your friends
This link is a bit easier (and faster) to use then an entry code
3. They use the link on arrival and SnapEntry answers the buzzer
Machines are great at waiting by the phone
4. The door opens
Without even checking your phone, your friends will arrive at your apartment

FAQ

Which intercom systems is SnapEntry compatible with? SnapEntry should work with any intercom system that calls your own phone number, like your cell phone, when a visitor arrives.

Older intercom systems that are hard-wired to your unit (with a receiver on the wall) are unfortunately incompatible with SnapEntry.

If I try SnapEntry and it's not for me, how do I cancel? What is the simple call-forwarding? It's annoying to tell your building manager to change your number the first time, changing it again 45-days later is worse - that's why we'll kick that can down the road with 1-year free of simple call-forwarding.

This means you'll have a minimal SnapEntry plan that just immediately forwards to a single number (the first one set-up by the owner) and no other features (no entry codes etc..). For visitors, they'll no longer hear the SnapEntry assistant, just ringing while we connect them to your phone.

A bit before the year is up, we'll remind you to tell your building manager to switch the number.

There are a couple details:

  • The 1-year time period starts from when the trial starts
  • To qualify for the 1-year of simple call-forwarding, you must complete a call from the intercom to SnapEntry during the trial period

When is SnapEntry not a great fit? Assuming it is compatible, SnapEntry solves the problem of having to answer your phone just when your visitor (be it friend, delivery person, or dog walker) arrives - allowing you to grant entry ahead of time.

If this problem doesn't come up much, you may not need SnapEntry. This can be the case in buildings that have concierges that essentially let everyone in, especially if they are 24/7.

What door does SnapEntry open? SnapEntry will open whatever door is associated with the intercom, which in practice is the main entrance door to the apartment building. SnapEntry does not currently have a product to open the door to your apartment. Is there a SnapEntry app? SnapEntry is a web application - there is no app in the various app stores.

That being said, most modern browsers support installing web applications - which SnapEntry does support. What does this change?

  • Have an app on your homescreen
  • Hides the URL bar
  • Allows the status bar colour to match the SnapEntry application
  • On iOS, installing the application is required to receive notifications

Are there usage limits?

SnapEntry is intended for residential apartment usage, and for those cases, we expect usage limits to rarely be encountered. If we are seeing extremely excessive usage, we may reach out to understand your use-case.

Current limits are:

  • Up to 15 entry codes in-use at a time
  • Up to 3 users per location
  • Up to 2 managed locations per user
  • Up to 2 phone numbers per user

When will SnapEntry be available outside of Canada? We are not sure yet. We are focused on making a great product in Canada, likely with the USA following next. How can an entire apartment building adopt SnapEntry? For building managers, condo board members or ambitious residents interested in large-scale adoption, please reach to support to discuss potential options. I'm a business, can I use SnapEntry? SnapEntry's current offerings are primarily intended for residential use-case, but if you fit within them, it is fine to use SnapEntry for business use (see the EULA).

If you need higher limits (e.g. more entry codes, more users, more locations), or are looking for more features (e.g. custom branding, domains or audio messages, or an API for automation) please reach out to support to discuss potential options.

I'm a merchant or a delivery company, how can we collaborate? Please reach out to partnerships@snapentry.ca.
